METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR ESTABLISHING BIER FORWARDING TABLE ENTRY

A method for establishing a bit indexed explicit replication (BIER) forwarding table entry. Said method comprises: a second network device receiving a first message sent by a first network device, the first message comprising a first host routing prefix of the first network device, first BIER information and second BIER information. The first BIER information includes the BIFT ID of the first network device. The second BIER information includes the BFR ID of at least one BFR in a first area, the at least one BFR not including the first network device. The first network device belongs to the first area and a second area. The second network device belongs to the second area. The first area and the second area are different. The second network device establishes a BIER forwarding table entry according to the first BIER information, the second BIER information, and the host routing prefix. The technical solution provided in the present application implements the establishment of a BIER forwarding table entry across areas, thereby implementing the forwarding of a BIER message across areas.
