To provide an electronic payment method and a device for an automatic service apparatus with which empty payment occurs as few as possible.SOLUTION: An automatic service machine comes equipped with an apparatus terminal machine, with payee information and transaction information such as charges displayed on a display device by QR code. The apparatus terminal machine outputs operable information to a billing assistance server. A recipient acquires the QR code displayed on the display device of the apparatus terminal machine using an imaging device of a portable terminal machine, and transmits it, together with the payee information and transaction information, to a payment GW server. After confirming that the transaction information and payee information are authentic, the payment GW server confirms that the operability information in the billing assistance server is a possible state and, thereafter, sends a payment request to a payment server, so the occurrence of empty payment is reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
