The invention relates to a capsule (1) comprising a capsule body (2) that has a preferably rotationally-symmetrical design and has a lateral wall (3) and a base (4) which, in particular, is formed integrally with said wall. The capsule body is covered by a cover (5) so as to form a chamber (6) containing a substance (7) for the preparation of a liquid foodstuff. A rupture disc (8) is held over said base (4) and bursts in the chamber when subjected to an inner pressure. Openings in said rupture disc can thus be exposed by means of which flow behaviour can be controlled.
