The present invention relates to an apparatus and related methods for measuring the straightness error of an elongated shaped element such as a bar or tube.The measuring apparatus (1) comprises a first support system (5) having one or more first sensors (6) and a central control unit (9) for detecting the deployment of the bar support system (3) and the longitudinal axis of the bar.The measurement apparatus further comprises a second detection system (7) comprising a plurality of second sensors (7a) for detecting the force applied to the support system (3), and a means (10) for acquiring at least one physical parameter of the measurement bar.The central control unit (9) detects at least one data acquisition and processing module that is detected by the first and second detection systems (5, 7) and acquires and processes the data acquired by the acquisition means (10) to determine the potential straightness error of the bar (9 ′) is provided.Diagram
