To provide a technique to quantify skin conditions using skin desquamation information.SOLUTION: A skin condition evaluation method has a step (S11) for extracting desquamation regions from a skin image of a subject, a step (S12) for obtaining areas of the desquamation regions extracted in the step (S11), a step (S13) for calculating a degree of variation in the areas of desquamation regions in the skin image, a step (S14) for acquiring an average area, intermediate area, or modal area of the desquamation regions in the skin image, or a desquamation ratio which is a ratio of the areas of desquamation regions to the skin area of the skin image, and a quantification step (S15) for calculating a value obtained by multiplying the calculated degree of variation by the average area, intermediate area, modal area or the desquamation ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
