The invention relates to a method for determining the effectiveness of the presentation of given text-based materials, which consists in: measuring the volume and determining the linguistic complexity of a number of text-based materials; determining the cognitive comprehension difficulty of each of the given forms of presentation of said text-based materials; generating a database of correlations between cognitive comprehension difficulty and volume and linguistic complexity for different text-based materials; determining the linguistic complexity of given text-based materials having a given form of presentation, and determining the cognitive comprehension difficulty of the given form of presentation of the given materials; selecting, from the database, materials having the closest volume and linguistic complexity to the given text-based materials, comparing the cognitive comprehension difficulty of the given and the selected text-based materials, and determining the effectiveness of the presentation of the given text-based materials on the basis of the difference in the cognitive comprehension difficulty of the selected and the given text-based materials, where a high cognitive comprehension difficulty of the given text-based materials corresponds to a relatively low effectiveness of presentation of the given text-based materials, and a low cognitive comprehension difficulty of the given text-based materials corresponds to a relatively high effectiveness of presentation of the given text-based materials.
