The prokaryotic collagen includes an isolated and purified triple helical backbone protein that facilitates adhesion prevention: one or more alteration in a triple helical backbone protein sequence, and one or more binding motifs, wherein the isolated and purified triple helical backbone protein facilitates adhesion prevention.
