Leutecycline and Lactobacillus leuteri to reduce weight gain

The present invention provides a method of using leutecycline or an analog thereof to reduce weight gain or induce weight loss in a mammal. Also provided herein are methods of using leutecycline-producing Lactobacillus leuteri bacteria as probiotics to reduce weight gain or induce weight loss, particularly for subjects receiving antibiotic or exogenous treatment.
