The invention relates to a system for removing and killing free ectoparasites in the water column in fish farms, comprising: a) one or a series of suction units made up of a cone (1,1b,1c), with its own light (2, 2b) or installed over an existing light (10); (b) a suction hose (3) connected to a control unit (7) which selects one or a series of suction units and regulates the timing of the suction equipment, either directly or by air injection, through a hose (4) for removing the water with the parasites; and (c) a collection filter (5) that catches the parasites, returning only the water via a drainage duct (6).
