The claimed solution relates to the field of data processing, in particular to the processing of telematic data received from the vehicle telematic device for the purpose of mapping its route. A method for constructing a vehicle route map based on telematics data, which contains the steps at which: get data from at least one telematic device on the computing device, including at least the speed, geographical coordinates, engine speed, and time of fixing the specified parameters at the route points; determine for each route point the motion vector (MV) and the dilution of precision (DOP), and if there are no MV and DOP for at least one route point, then the MV and DOP of the known next route point are assigned for this point; filter the route points for which the DOP indicator in the horizontal plane is higher than the specified value, as well as points for which the difference in the MV is higher than the specified error in relation to the MV for neighboring points; form a set of filtered points on the vehicle route; determine the radius of the vehicle location in the geographical area based on the DOP readings for each point from the filtered set; normalize data by enriching the filtered set of route points with points with an average DOP and the speed of the vehicle; apply normalized data to a digital map; form a map of the vehicle route with a link to the digital map. The technical result is an increase in the accuracy of forming a vehicle route linked to a digital map.
