PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional food having an effect of increasing LDL cholesterol. SOLUTION: A functional food composed of raw cod liver oil derived from deep-sea shark and β-hydroxy β-methylbutyrate (HMB) and having an effect of increasing LDL cholesterol. It is preferable that β-hydroxy β-methylbutyrate is contained in an amount of 0.3 to 1.2 per 1 raw cod liver oil by weight. In addition to raw cod liver oil and HMB, it is preferable to contain L-glutamine and L-arginine. In the production, first, crude oil obtained from the liver of Ai shark is separated into an oil component and a solid component using a centrifuge, and impurities in the oil component are filtered and removed. After that, the component ratio of the oil component is measured and the component is adjusted. The component ratio is adjusted so that the component ratio of squalene is 78 to 83 wt%, and the component ratio of squalane, squalamine, and ω3 fatty acid (DHA, EPA, etc.) as components other than squalene is 17 to 22 wt%.
