A method for modifying the performance of an exit blade of a multistage turbine (22), comprising the steps of: determining a total available inlet flow (26) for the exit blades of the multistage turbine (22); andmeasuring different proportions of the total inlet flow (26) to each of the plurality of pre-engineered different sized outlet blades (30, 34) to thereby reduce outlet losses (94, 98) of the outlet blades of the multistage turbine (22) compared to metering equal proportions of the total inlet flow (26) to minimize each of a plurality of pre-engineered, correspondingly sized exit blades (30, 34).
