A method for stress echocardiography guidance, the method comprising: detecting (24) a plurality of heart rate intervals of a patient by means of an EKG device, calculating (26) a recovery rate for the patient on the basis of the heart rate intervals by means of an ultrasound imaging system; approximate determination (28) a time for the ultrasound imaging system to generate an image of a heart of the patient during recovery from exercise, the time being estimated as a function of the recovery rate; and outputting (30) the time on a display device of the ultrasound imaging system.
