PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron making system and an iron making method in which carbon dioxide emissions are efficiently reduced. SOLUTION: The iron making system has a first gas generating unit that converts carbon monoxide in a gas containing carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide to obtain a first gas, and a metal oxide that reduces carbon dioxide. A reducing gas supply unit 3 that supplies a reducing gas containing a reducing substance that reduces the reducing agent that has been oxidized by contact with carbon dioxide, and a first gas generating unit and a reducing gas supply unit 3. A plurality of reactors 4a and 4b connected to at least one of them and a reducing agent arranged in the reactors 4a and 4b are provided, and the first gas and the reducing gas supplied to the respective reactors 4a and 4b are switched. It has a possible reaction unit 4, and is mainly composed of carbon monoxide obtained by bringing the first gas supplied to the reactors 4a and 4b into contact with a reducing agent to convert carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide.
