The present application provides a transformer structure and a locomotive traction transformer, pertaining to the technical field of transformers. The transformer structure comprises: an iron core and windings. The iron core comprises an iron yoke ring and a core column. The windings are arranged outside of the core column. Since a transformer having the transformer structure is to be placed within a fuel tank, configuring such that a sum of cross sectional areas of iron yoke rings at any two sides of the core column is greater than or equal to a cross sectional area of the core column enables different transformer design solutions according to different locomotives, and enables the shape and the area of the transformer structure to be adjusted for space limitations of different locomotives. In addition, using the cross sectional area of the core column as a reference to configure the cross sectional areas of different iron yoke rings facilitates fitting thereof with a suitable fuel tank and adaptation to a locomotive structure having strict space limitations. The invention alleviates the technical problem of the prior art in which strict space limitations of transformer structures cause difficulties in placing a transformer, thereby providing broad applicability and usability.
