The invention relates to a climate control system for a rail vehicle, the climate control system being suitable for combustible coolants and being designed as a compact device for installation on the vehicle roof. The object of the invention is to produce a directly evaporating system in which the electrical switch box (electrical box) inside a compact climate control device for a rail vehicle is partitioned in such a way that, in the event of relevant leakages of assemblies containing coolant, this assembly cannot come into contact with the combustible coolant and thus no ignitable mixture can occur in these regions. This object is achieved in that the electrical box is designed as a completely closed assembly and is operatively connected to an assembly by which air from regions outside the segments of the climate control system containing coolant is guided into the electrical box in such a way that a positive pressure can be generated in the electrical box in order to prevent combustible coolant from flowing into the electrical box.
