The invention relates to an assembly (10) of a covering cap (14) of a tubular gas generator (12) and a deflector element (16), which diverts gas flowing out of at least one outflow opening (28) of the covering cap (14) to at least one discharge opening (34) of the deflector element (16), with a deflecting surface (30) of the deflector element (16) arranged radially outwards from the outflow opening (28).
