Blowout preventer system with three control pods

A blowout preventer system is provided. In one embodiment, the system has a blow arrestor stack 24 with hydraulic components 30. The blow arrestor stack is connected to a lower marine riser package 22 with additional hydraulic components 28. The lower marine riser package further includes a pair of control pods 40 and 42 to allow clearance control of the hydraulic components of the blow arrestor stack and additional hydraulic components of the lower marine riser package. In addition, the lower marine riser package also has a third control pod 44 that allows for additional clearance control of the hydraulic components of the blow arrestor stack and additional hydraulic components of the lower marine riser package. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also specified.
