The invention is directed to a device for draining urine from the bladder of a patient, consisting of an indwelling part placed in the bladder and in the urethra and a retractable insertion aid of pipe or tube inserted into the indwelling part and facilitating urethral introduction or passage hose-like structure, the inner lumen of which offers the possibility of applying a lubricating and lumen-erecting substance into the urethra, with a reservoir container for receiving a preferably gel-like substance being attached to the proximal end of the insertion aid, and the substance flowing into the proximal gap between the insertion aid and catheter, can be applied from the opening of the catheter tip into the urethra. Furthermore, various designs of the device and a method are described, which enables both the operation of the covering and cleaning preparation for the introduction of a catheter with one hand, as well as the catheterization of the bladder by guidance with only one hand of the user.
