An object of the present invention is to provide a lithium ion battery manufacturing method capable of improving the performance of a lithium ion battery by forming a stable solid electrolyte interface (SEI) and reducing the resistance of the battery, and a lithium ion battery manufactured by this method. do. To this end, an aspect of the present invention includes (a) a positive electrode containing lithium, a negative electrode capable of inserting-removing lithium, a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and SEI (Solid Electrolyte Interface) assembling a lithium ion battery for a chemical conversion process containing an electrolyte for chemical conversion, which is advantageous for forming a layer, (b) forming an SEI layer on the negative electrode surface by performing a chemical conversion process on the lithium ion battery for the chemical conversion process. Step, (c) separating the negative electrode on which the SEI layer is formed from the lithium ion battery for the chemical conversion process completed, and (d) reassembling a final lithium ion battery using the separated negative electrode.
