PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb a pollutant from a cabin air stream into a liquid adsorbent, desorb the pollutant from the liquid adsorbent, discharge the pollutant into the pollutant stream, and return clean air to the cabin. Provided is an air pollutant removal system with one or more membrane separators. A pollutant removal system comprises a membrane scrubber separator and a membrane stripper separator, but in another example, the pollutant removal system is configured to operate in scrubbing and stripping modes. May be provided with a membrane separator. A pollutant removal system is a humidity control system configured to maintain the humidity of a clean air stream or the water concentration of a liquid adsorbent using one or more water sources of the aircraft, or fluid coupling to the aircraft air stream. It may comprise a thermal management system configured to maintain the temperature of the liquid adsorbent using one or more heat exchangers. [Selection diagram] Fig. 2
