Methods and apparatus are provided for processing and modifying the physical properties of a metal workpiece with a final metal component. Certain processing parameters are established to achieve the final metal component. The metal workpiece is firmly placed on the support during the change of physical properties. The impact is applied to the surface of the workpiece several times to achieve the final metal component while controlling the impact with certain processing parameters. A sensor is provided to continuously detect the current physical situation of the workpiece during collision. The collision is changed in response to the currently existing physical situation of the workpiece from the sensing and processing of the workpiece until the predetermined processing parameter is changed to the adjusted processing parameter and the metal component is achieved.
