7026. Bergs÷e, P. April 14. Tin, obtaining.-Relates to recovering tin from tinned scrap, solder, alloys, &c., and refining crude tin. The raw material, in thin plates or granulated, is treated with an aqueous solution of stannic chloride or like stannic salt, which dissolves the tin, forming a stannous salt. The solution is then electrolysed, with deposition of tin and formation of a stannic salt, which is used for the treatment of a further quantity of scrap. The electrolyte should be continuously circulated and regenerated.
