16,330. Moseley, J. W. Sept. 14. Air-heating and ventilating stoves and fireplaces. -Above the fire A is placed a box B, having a central opening leading to the chimney. Air is drawn into this box from the outside of the house by a tube C or from a ventilating-shaft, becomes heated therein, and escapes into the room through an opening having a valve G and a perforated canopy F, or is led by a tube to any other place required. Beneath the fire is a tank D which contains water, mixed if desired with any required disinfectant or perfume. In consequence of the heat, water vapour is formed, and passes upwards along with the disinfectant &c, through the tube E, and is delivered together with the heated fresh air into the apartment. A coiled tube may be used instead of the box B.
