Salves.-A salve for catarrhal affections of the mucous membrane is produced by melting together beef-fat, pork-fat, and camphor, and stirring in ammonia, carbolic acid, and tincture of benzoin. The liquid is filtered while hot, and allowed to cool, forming a soft aromatic salve.
