Harrows; ploughs; seeds, sowing; manuring. - Relates to the construction of a combined implement for simultaneously ploughing, manuring, sowing, and harrowing land. Fig. 1 shows a double-furrow plough with the sowing and other attachments. Hoppers a, a are mounted on brackets b, b clamped to the plough beam z. The hoppers a, a are divided by a hinged board into compartments for the seed and manure respectively. The board can be folded down, when required, to use the hopper a for seeds only. Shafts p and q are mounted beneath the hoppers a, a, and are driven by sprocket gearing actuates from a gear-wheel e attached to the furrow wheel d. In the bottom of the manure compartment of each of the hoppers a is arranged a casing in which works a horizontal manure-distributing disc driven by worm gearing from the shaft p. The disc delivers the manure into a flexible tube 10, which delivers it to the drill coulter 18. A seed-distributing roller works beneath the seed compartment of the hopper a. The roller is provided with a fluted groove, and also with a row of pockets, either of which can be put out of use by a hinged flap mounted over a hole in the bottom of the hopper. The seed passes down a shoot 17, which delivers it into the flexible tube 10. The harrow blades 25 are attached to a plate secured to the coulter 18. The two plates are connected by a rod 31 suspended by a chain or chains 32 from a bent lever 33 operated by the lever 38, which also operates the land wheel 37 to raise the implements out of work. The coulters 18 are connected to bars 20 freely pivoted at 21 to the mouldboard 26 and guided in their movement by a pin-and-slot arrangement.
