Beer and other beverages, drawing-off.-The supply pipe to the taps of a bar are provided with intermediate cocks arranged to be opened and closed simultaneously, so that the barman may leave the bar without fear of liquor being drawn by the public, or the proprietor of the establishment may cut off the supplies at night to prevent surreptitious draught by the employees. In the arrangement shown, all the supply pipes are led through a box a, where each is provided with a self-opening lift valve c under a plate e which bears a pair of parallel levers e2. When the levers are pulled into the vertical position, pins h upon them travel under inclines f on a fixed rail g, and the plate over the valves consequently presses them down into the closing position. The link i connecting the levers is operated from a convenient place by means of a cord i2 and a slide m (or a lever), which either moves between friction jaws n or is provided with a key lock.
