2482. Cooke, N. E. Feb. 5. Lavatory basins.-The outlet of the basin is fitted with a flanged ferrule a secured by a screwed collar b. Connected to the flange a by rods d is a second collar f, in which the tubular discharge valve and overflow pipe g slide. The lower conical end of this tube enters a corresponding seat in the ferrule a. The valve may be held up by a pin engaging either as a bayonetjoint or with a spiral groove.
