22,152. Patey, R. W. Oct 20. Hinged valves.-A disk valve i is eccentrically pivoted in the outlet of a lavatory basin and bears a counterweight j. When a certain weight of water has entered the basin, the pressure opens the valve, which thus acts as an overflew. The counterweight may also be on the upper side of the valve. Normally the valve is opened by hand.
