Preservative compositions; antifouling points and compositions; paints, materials for.-Relates to a composition which may be used as a preservative and antifouling composition for ships and submerged structures, as a preservative ingredient in the manufacture of felt for roofing or covering purposes, as an insecticide for use with plants or elsewhere or to prevent the ravages of ants. The composition consists of an extract of tannin or tannic acid or of powdered bark containing tannin used either alone or in admixture with paint or other compositions according to the purpose for which it is to be employed.
