Drinking-vessels.-Relates to a method of ornamenting china drinking-cups and the like by producing translucent picture effects in their base. The clay is spun over a plaster of Paris casting of the picture or portrait. This produces a relief impression in the bottom of the cup, which is seen as a picture by transmitted light. Prior to glazing, ceramic colours may be applied.
