Liquid levels regulating and indicating. - A liquid supply is automatically cut off by rne-iiis of a device snch as that shown in Fig. 1, when a cask, barrel, tank, or ether vessel is filled. To the tube G connected with the reservoir is attached at r'ghtangles a tube A for insertion into the bunoliole of the cask &c. The tube G is fitted with a valve C provided with a weighted arm or lever D having a roller d1 which, when the valve is open, abuts . against a projection e1 on a pivoted weighted lever E. One end of the lever E is connected by a rod E4 with a float a' moving in a tube a' within the tube A. When the vessel is filled, the float is lifted, thus tilting the lever E and releasing the arm D, which automatically closes the valve C. The arm on falling also gives a signal by ringing the bell I. The tube A may be graduated and fitted with an adjustable collar F which rests on the cask, thus regulating the quantity of liquid to be filled into the vessel. In a modification, a spring quadrant is substituted for the weighted arm D.
