Counting-apparatus.-Coins thrown on an inclined tray A are drawn through a terminal channel D which only allows of one passing at a time, and fall through a hole G into a tube H across which a shutter J is normally held by a spring K. In passing through the channel, the coin gives one-sixth of a revolution to a hexagonal wheel L which is geared by a pinion 0 to a counting-wheel P of sixty teeth. On the completion of the revolution of this wheel, a lug P1 upon it encounters a hinged stop T. The shutter is then drawn to allow the coins in the tube to fall into a bag and the stop is turned down for the operation to be repeated.
