10,687. Thomas, C. O., W. May 9. Astronomy, teaching; globes.-Relates to apparatus for illustrating the apparent path of the sun in the heavens. A disc A, representing the visible part of the earth's surface at any point, is pivoted diametrally in an upright C. A ring G is similarly pivoted in uprights I. A semicircular scale D to set off the meridian is fixed to the disc A and slides in a slot at the upper end of the upright C. The hour is set by a pointer E attached to C against a scale F. The days and months are marked on the scale G.
