27,188. Boardman, R. Dec. 10. Tapping.- To the taphole of the barrel is attached a tube a having an attachment flange b. The tube is threaded internally at both ends to receive a threaded plug k and the threaded spigot of the tap, and is provided with perforations e. Within the tube is a hollow perforated plug or valve g, actuated by a spring and having a shoulder h adapted to fit a seating f on the tube. Normally, the valve is pressed to its seating, but, to withdraw the liquid, it is pressed from its seating, as shown, by inserting the tap.
