Branding by heat.-Relates to tools for pyrography or poker work on leather, wood, &c., and consists in providing a tool with the usual hollow burning point, and also with means for obtaining a jet of hot gases for scorching lighter or finer marks on the work. The burning point 12 is formed hollow to provide a chamber to which the air and vapour are supplied in the usual manner. At the orifice 14, Fig. 1, where the heated gases escape, a nozzle 16 with a fine bore is provided for producing a jet and directing it on to the work The nozzle 16 may be on a sleeve removably fixed on the part 12. According to Fig. 3, the nozzle 16 is on a removable cap or hood 20, into which the hot gases escape by the orifice 14. The nozzle 16 may be at the end or other part of the cap 20.
