Moulding fuel &c.-Prepared coal dust and like agglomerating substances are moulded in a box D between two rams C, C1 having a differential motion by working about 30‹ out of phase. The rams are driven from a pinion J by spur gearing, the ram C', provided with a spring E, having a shorter stroke, but making twice as many strokes as the ram C. The material is fed into a hopper F, and pushed by the ram C into the mould, which is provided with removable liners. The pressing takes place as the ram C retires, and is thereby prolonged ; the moulded block or fuel is smoothed as it slides, and is ejected on the next stroke of the ram C. Several moulds may be arranged in line with one crank, and multiple cranks may be placed side by side.
