Paints and varnishes, removing.-A mixture of slaked lime, potash or soda, petroleum or paraffins, soft soap, and alcohol or acetone is employed for removing lacquer, varnish, oil paint, and more especially burnt lacquer, from surfaces coated therewith. Chalk may be added to thicken the composition.
