27,331. Dickson, R. A. Dec. 14. Ornamenting glass and metal surfaces.-Consists in ornamenting tablets, signboards, advertising-signs, facias, wall panels, &c., which are usually made of glass or zinc, by enamelling, colouring, or marbling them, then polishing, and painting or engraving lettering, devices, ornamention, &c. thereon. A covering of glass or other transparent substance, the undersurface of which may or may not be painted, coloured, engraved, or gilded with devices &c., is then cemented on to the tablet to protect it from atmospheric influences. Existing tablets &c. may also be adapted in the above way.
