Signals, electriclamp.-Crosses on church towers are built of angle-iron and the sides are formed of thick roughened glass. Braces, fixed to the cross at intervals, carry rollers upon which are placed belts 29, 30, 31, the belts, though movable, being normally stationary. Mounted on the belts are groups of incandescent lamps 32,33,34,35. The current enters at the wire 36, passes by the wire a to the series 32, and returns by the wire e, the series 33 being fed by the wires e,f. The two series 34, 35 on the belt 29 are supplied by the wires 38, c respectively, the return wires being 39, d. When it is desired to remove any particular lamp, the belt is rotated, slack parts 41, 40 in the wires enabling the belts to move.
