20,064. Massey, J. Sept. 17. Stoppers.-Relates to a device for placing indiarubber washers on screw stoppers. A tubular handle a, split in two or more places longitudinally, is bound with an elastic band c and contains a spring e. The washer f is reversed and placed on the smaller end of a conical plug d, the stopper g being inserted in a recess in the opposite end. The plug is then forced into the handle a, so that the washer is pushed along by the edge ax of the handle, until it reaches the end of the plug, when it reverses itself and springs into place on the shank of the stopper.
