The device has a pressing unit (1) comprising a wheel (9) aligned on glass bottles (3) that are equipped with glass stoppers (2) and conveyed at a conveyor (7). The wheel is positioned in a transport direction of the bottles in an unreeling manner, where distance of a running surface of the wheel to a surface of the conveyor corresponds to sum of height of the bottles and thickness of a head collar (5) of the stoppers. A casing of the wheel is made of a resilient material e.g. plastic and rubber, where circumferential speed of the wheel corresponds to transport speed of the conveyor.
