Seat backs.-In a spring back-rest or cushion for motor carriages and the like, a frame A is provided with strengthening-bars a1 and a sheetmetal plate B, to which frame and plate one series of ends of the springs C are fixed, the other ends of the springs being connected to the frame at a2 by wires E, which may be supplemented by laced wires e1. Additional springs may be introduced between the wire lacing E, e' and the frame A, with extra sheet-metal plates B, or additional springs H may be fixed at the back of the frame A. The frame A may be hinged to the body of the vehicle.
