3901. Russ, C. Feb. 24. Boots and shoes, cleaning and polishing.-Three brushes g h, i are rotated by means of separate handles g7, h7, i7 or by a small motor. The upper brushes project from the frame, which is hollowed at the outer side bx to allow free access to the under parts of the brushes. The cleaning-brush g is accessible only on the underside. On the top of the frame is mounted a casing r, in which is mounted a slide carrying a cake of blacking. A sliding plate r3 is employed for preventing the contact of the brush with the blacking when not in use. The driving-gear compartments f are enclosed by a door hinged at q1, the brush compartments e being left open. The back is adapted for securing the apparatus to the wall.
