16,554. Dawson, G. Aug. 15. Cleaning bottles.-Fig. 1 shows apparatus for supporting a bottle neck downwards over a nozzle D, which is screwed into the water-supply pipe. The nozzle is flanged, and pillars B are secured to the flange and at their upper ends support spring leaves a4 ribbed or grooved at a5 and bolted by flanges to the pillars. In a modification, one of the spring leaves is bulged or pressed out to make room for such stoppers as are swivelled on to bottles. The screw d' of the nozzle is replaced by a hollow perforated bolt passing right through the water-supply pipe and held in place by a screw cap. In another form, the support consists of an inverted metal cone with ribbed spring leaves cut in it ; the lower part of the cone is made with a flange screwed to the nozzle flange, and is perforated to allow used water to escape.
