Filter, - pre s s es. - Cross-bars b are used to strengthen press trays for potters' slip, such as those described in Specification No. 16,648, A.D. 1897, consisting of rectangular frames with vertical wooden strips a. A gap c may be left between the bars b at the centre, or a single continuous bar with recesses, through which the slip can pass, may be used. The bars b may be placed on either side of each tray, or bars of double thickness may be placed on one side only. Two or more parallel sets of bars may be used,
