Sliding bolts.- The bolts i fastening the door c of a tip-wagon or the like are withdrawn, when the wagon is tipped, by the impact of a heavy ball d in a tube a upon a spring-controlled piston plate e. The ball lies normally in a pocket a1, where it may be retained by a pin l. A triangular cross-head g bears upon a roller at the end of a lever h connected by radius links with the bolts i. Other connecting-mechanism may be employed. The piston e may have projecting pins e3, e4, Fig. 4, sliding in slots edge-lined with anglebars. A cup-shaped wooden block k may be attached to the piston plate.
