Shearing.-A machine for shearing angle and tee bars has two slides 2, 3, each at an angle of fortyfive degrees, carrying blades 4. for cutting tees, a lower blade 5 is also carried by the slide. These blades coact with a long vertical cutter 6 and an horizontal cutter 8 ; in cutting angles, the cutter 6 is placed horizontally and a cutter 7 vertically. For guiding the work, cylindrical stops 13, 14 adjustable in slots 15, 16 are employed. A block 19 supports one flange of the angle, or half the flange of the tee. The stop 13 is used when the work is introduced from the front of the machine, and the stop 14 when from the back. To hold down the work, a screw clamp 26 supporting the flange is pivotally adjustable about the bolt 22 to suit different inclinations. To facilitate the shearing of sections of different sizes, distance-pieces may be placed behind the cutters and blades.
