Improvements in Funeral Carriages and Hearses.

Hearses; coaches; steps.-Mourning coaches or broughams for children's funerals are provided with an open, glazed, or parallel compartment above the roof, for the reception of a child's coffin, and with folding steps at the back. The receptacle may be formed by pillars C, supporting an ornamental covering D, and may be fitted with hooks for carrying wreaths &c. The receptacle may be rendered detachable by making the pillars C removable in sockets &c., so that the coach may be used for other purposes, or the receptacle fitted to any other suitable vehicle. Steps G at the rear of the coach may be folded within a case I, which may be fitted with a door. In order that the coach may be washed and disinfected, the interior may be enamelled and fitted with detachable seat and back cushions, covered with washable material.
