Tiles; enamelling.-In making plain majolica glazed tiles, the tile is moulded with a slightly convex face, so that the glaze flows from the centre towards the edges during the glazing and firing. The face of the finished tile is approximately flat, and the gradual thickening of the glaze from the centre to the edges produces a shaded effect.
